Hungry The Hungry Trilogy eBook A S Albrecht
I found this novel to be loaded with too much detail and most of it was irrelevant. The author went into minute detail about the main character going about her day to day life. Tons of paragraphs involved the main character brushing her teeth, vacuuming her apartment, washing dishes, driving to the supermarket, etc. It was a shame because there were elements about the main character"s upbringing that were not expanded upon which could have made the book very interesting. After wading through all the wording it was hard to get a real feel for Jane. She came off as boring and lackluster. Jane flip-flopped about, like a fish on dry land, making her relationship with Kanin even less believable. The novel description may be enticing but the book itself is more of a snoozer.

Hungry The Hungry Trilogy eBook A S Albrecht Reviews
So trite I couldn't even get through the whole book. Unappetizing!
A good friend recommended this book, and I found it to be an entertaining story which I quickly read. Although I am not into the vampire trend, I found a solid story and discovered the vampire theme to be a nice compliment. The author built a good foundation of characters in the first installment, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Albrecht has me wondering what she will do with Sophie in the future books.
It would be near impossible to write a vampire book with a really original storyline, so if you're going to write a vampire story it needs to at least be really interesting. This one was not. Jane is an incredibly dull heroine. She's described several times as outspoken and independent but there is no evidence of those characteristics at all, she comes across more as an anal retentive spinster librarian.
The plot is centered around her romance with the world's oldest vampire but it's certainly more sex than romance. Their first meeting takes place prior to the start of the book so you miss out on that moment of first connection, there's no witty banter or flirty dates - you feel cheated. The first time she goes out with him they have two pages of conversation and then have sex - totally unbelievable for how her character is written. And then page after endless page of mundane details - what she had for breakfast, what the traffic was like, what to put on her grocery list. Two straight chapters of her running errands with no dialog or interaction with other characters.
There were hints of what might have been interesting plot lines that were thrown out there but then never developed. I would not recommend this book, I will not be reading the rest of the series.
Okay. That's all I can say. It's an okay read. When you read this book, you expect what happens. But overall it's not a bad book
A vampire book like none other I have read. If vampires are your thing this is the book for you.
With the reviews I was expecting an amazing and really different story, it wasn't! The author writes lots of "filler" at first reading about janes every moment I thought there must be some significance, I was wrong! So I found myself skipping whole sections to get to the next bit of the story, yawn!
This was a good book and I would have given it 5 stars but it was too wordy in places. It was like the author tried to extend the length of the book by adding unnecessary detail. "She reached for the handle of the car and opened it. Sat down in the drivers seat. She took the key an put it into the ignition slot and turned the key. The car started. She reached over and put on her seatbelt. She put the car in drive...." This is repeated just like this over and over. Couldn't you just say "She got in her car and drove to his house." Do we really need ever tern and street she went down? It would have been better without all the useless details.
I found this novel to be loaded with too much detail and most of it was irrelevant. The author went into minute detail about the main character going about her day to day life.
