From USA Today bestselling author Wendy Byrne...

Trained as children to become assassins by the infamous Goren Petrovich, Sabrina Shaw and her two brothers have had a less-than-normal upbringing. Her current assignment find the daughter of a prominent politician who has disappeared, categorized as a runaway by the authorities. It seems simple enough, until Sabrina uncovers the girl may have been the victim of a kidnapping that goes far beyond ransom requests. Now Sabrina must put her training to the test as she infiltrates a sex trafficking ring operating in Europe in order to find the girl...all while dodging a mysterious FBI agent and the demons from her own past.

Hard to Kill a Hard Targets novel edition by Wendy Byrne Romance eBooks

This was a good read. Obviously many, many 5 star ratings were given by reviewers that recieved a free copy with the promise of "an honest review". It would appear that some folks would like to continue to get free books by overlooking obvious errors in editing and blatant lead ends to the next books through out the entire novel. It's a shame. Had reviewers been honest with the author she could learn from her mistakes though one or two were through no fault her own. She, hopefully in this case, relied on an editor. That person failed her abysmally. I could have edited with far greater results than the moron that edited this novel. The novel was good and I was "hooked" early on and felt barraged by hints at backstory and the like that were quite plainly weren't going to be answered until the next book. I look forward to the next book and have gone so far as to sign up for an alert for the release of the next in the series. My hope is Ms Byrne signs with a real publisher-the talent is there. Also, I hope she finds some reviewers that have enough respect for Ms Byrne's growth to get the honest reviews she is entitled to given she is giving her work away. Best of luck, I enjoyed the novel and look forward to the next installment! PS I will gladly edit for free-the mistakes should have been caught. The editor was either extremely lazy or asleep or both! Thats my 2 cents.

Hard to Kill a Hard Targets novel edition by Wendy Byrne Romance eBooks Reviews

I had read the book before this Play Nice and liked the action. When this came out I had hope to hear more of Anya but instead met a new family. Sabrina and her two brothers. I got caught up in the excitement and couldn't put it down.

I'm hoping the next books in the series keeps Sabina and Kane in it to help whatever misadventure is next. Very action packed.
I eally love reading books with women heroines. You could never count her out. This tough lady finds love at the end which she fights against all through the book. She fights hard for this case she is working on and never gives up. Kept me not wanting to put the book down. Loved it. Will look forward to another book by Wendy Byrne
J This was such an unbelievable fantasy, but still an entertaining read. I loved how strong and resourceful both characters were, and I loved how the romance didn't dominate the storyline. I think I'll read another in this series.
Very Good book, but I kind of felt like our main character became weaker the farther into the book. Someone who is a trained killer/agent should be a little bit tougher. She certainly shouldn't need a man to 'rescue' her. But the plot and characters were interesting and I wanted to find out more about them. I feel like there was more left out in regards to their pasts than should have been, but I am guessing it will come up in the next book. Enjoyed a good read.
I really enjoyed this riveting story of evil perpetrated on the innocent by the devil incarnate. The strength of the character both mentally and emotionally to forge through physical pain to obtain her objective in ridding the world of evil and the slightest crack she found in her armour, made by love was intriguing. I loved the story line and recommend this book to everyone.
This fast paced, action packed book features a kidnap victim recovery specialist (Sabrina) with mad skills and an undercover FBI agent (Kane). She would rather work solo, but he can't help himself from coming to the rescue. These two thrill seeking adrenaline junkies bring it on. The action never stops, danger, rescues, fighting, escaping, killing and loving. There is no vulgar language or graphic sex (thank you). I'm not saying there is no sex, but you are not invited into the bedroom. Dialog is witty and beautifully balances the violence and drama. In an intensity scale of 0 to 10, I give this a heart pumping 8.
Push. Pull. Push. Pull. That's is the journey our heroine takes both into and out of herself in this action, danger, drama flavored with a bit o' romance. Sabrina has kept her distance so long, she can't reconcile her emotions when they keep getting in the way. She is mission oriented and struggles to maintain that perspective, which has always worked for her in the past. Well, it actually came from her past, the one she's trying to make sense of.

The romance part doesn't get in the way of the story, the saving of Caitlin from her abductors and taking the bad guys down. The characters are well fleshed out, and their choices make sense with their various histories. Though that doesn't make it any easier for Sabrina, who had previously been able to compartmentalize. But now her emotions seem to be clouding the issue and she has to reevaluate who she has become.

"Hard to Kill" comes to a satisfying end and I'm curious about other books from this author. The preview of the next book in the series, "Hard to Trust" feels interesting, this time focusing on Sabrina's brother Jake. Can't wait to dig into that one!

I recommend "Hard to Kill" and rate it 4 stars. That's about an A-.

If you like non stop heart stopping action, danger, drama with a little less romance may I suggest Tom Barber's Sam Archer series. Each book packs a good punch and there's never really a good time to put it down for a break or a snack. They will keep you up late! Sam Archer is all business and he's very good at what he does!
