I've several books that I've read and re-read in this series, Stars and Stripes is one of them. True romance is what you're bound to find here, the young men are getting more comfortable with their feelings and beginning to realize how important they are to each other. The action adrenaline rush is still there, for those that feel some of the action is improbable, I say that's why it's called fiction. I enjoy the fact the these two FBI agents are not your stereotypical gay couple, they're so much more. I have to admit I still don't get the sex part, but I guess I'm too old to figure it out, if you don't want explicit sex skip a couple of pages but enjoy these books they pull at your heartstrings.Product details

Aside from the fact that this has quickly become one of my favorite series - Stars & Stripes I think is my favorite installment to date. Ty and Zane were just so darn cute together and the relationship angst meter read non-existent. I love their bantering and witty dialogue.
I'm still a little hazy on the plot - although I usually end up with unanswered questions (I admit it - it's more about the relationship for me; and it's always exciting when there's a lot of shooting and things get blown up) - currently I'd like to know why drug runners thought complicating things by adding in big game poaching was a stellar idea. I guess running drugs wasn't challenging enough and they wanted to diversify. But that's really neither here nor there.
This installment was all about family, relationships, dynamics and Ty and Zane solidifying themselves as a couple. Earl actually endeared himself to me a bit, which I didn't think possible. I do think that while he and Mara were angry with Ty for keeping secrets from them - they should have also been asking themselves how it was that they apparently fostered an environment where Ty feared the reaction he would get and thus did not feel safe enough to be forthcoming. It was nice to see Zane reconnect with the members of his family that were worth his time and energy; and as far as Beverley is concerned, well...what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Ty's kitty affinity is adorable; it's nice to see Zane healing emotionally and allowing himself to have emotions, and the boys still manage to make sex both hot and sweet at the same time. Stars & Stripes was filled with romance, humor, action and overall was just lots of fun!
Ty and Zane go to WV to help rebuild a shed after Ty's father has an injury. Chester shows us he is much smarter and observing than the family gives him credit when he sees what these two men mean to each other. Ty's parents react differently than expected and bones are broken. Zane has to rush to Texas when his father is shot leaving Ty behind. But as we all know Ty can't be without Zane too long.
The entire Texas adventure is part funny as heck, part frustrating, and part frightening. Zane's mother is a class A bitch.....his father is fantastic. In all of this the men get involved with big cat abduction, suspected drug running, horses that talk to Ty ( he doesn't understand them), sweet niece with a pink pony, homophobes, big hats,and a big Bengal tiger who loves Ty. Its interesting, suspenseful, and has lots of love. Typical adventures for our two Special Agents!
This was a 3.5 for me. It got the .5 towards the later half of the book. I have to say, I can definitely tell that there's only one author on this series now instead of the original two. There's certain touches that aren't the same, and some of the strengths are missing.
However, I still enjoyed it, though the beginning of this felt like fanfiction of the series itself...instead of being the series.
I was actually a little glad that Zane's reveal was never accepted by his mother. If everyone had accepted them, I would have been ...disappointed? in a way. It was already hard enough for me to believe the Grady's were fine with it. (I know conservative family, HA.) But if the Texans had all too, that would've, well, I would've had to mark this on my fantasy shelf.
This book was absolutely clawsome! I loved it! It was the purrfect mix of love, adventure, intimacy and family drama! Ty and Zane are so funny and sweet! Awww. With every book more and more pieces are added to create a very fine picture of these two men who they were, who they are now and where they are going. Ty and Zane are finally ready to be out with their families. It takes courage, Chester Grady and Harrison Garrett's nudge to finally take the plunge, and the moments are filled with happiness, trepidation and humor - very beautiful.
This time around Ty and Zane travel to the wilds of Texas to help out Zane's family. As always it turns into a nightmare for everyone. Thefts, missing animals and greedy people nearly destroy the family with Ty and Zane right in the middle of the madness. Some moments were truly spectacular, some were hilarious. I loved every page. This series is shaping up to be an all time favorite! I highly recommend it!
